In the EU accession process of the Republic of Serbia, the State Audit institution participates in two negotiating groups - 32 (financial control) and 5 (public procurements). Regarding Negotiating Chapter 32, the Institution participated at meetings of explanatory and bilateral screening. The first bilateral screening, organized in Brussels in 2013, was dedicated to analytical review of the compliance of the Serbian regulations with the EU acquis, in the area of public finance control. The European Commission commended the volume and quality of submitted documentation and the accompanying input. It was stated that there was high degree of harmonization with the EU acquis.
Regarding Negotiating Chapter 5, the Institution participated at meetings of explanatory and bilateral screening.
Also, the Institution participates in regular political and economic dialogue between EU and Serbia. Cooperation is also reflected in the context of implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) between the EU and Serbia. SAA establishes rules for comprehensive partnership between Serbia and EU, in order to provide support to Serbian progress towards EU accession.
The Institution has successfully cooperated with the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia and the EU Integration Office of the Serbian Government. In addition to regular meetings, cooperation with these two institutions included activities on implementation of the Twining Project from IPA 2011 funds.
